Flick has no plans to change goalkeeper.
Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has confirmed that he has no plans to change goalkeeper at the moment. The La Liga giants have signed Wojciech Szczesny after Marc-Andre ter Stegen suffered a serious injury that kept him out for a while. But the Polish goalkeeper is yet to feature.
When asked if Flick would make any changes to his goalkeeper for the next La Liga game. Which sees the Blaugrana travel to Mallorca on Tuesday, the German confirmed that Inaki Peña will be the No. 1.UFABET
“He (Szczesny) has been very good in training,” Flick told reporters on Monday.
“But there is no change to the plans we have set. So Inaki (Peña) remains as the number one, as we said before. Everything remains the same.”
For Barca, they are in dire need of a league win as they have only one point from their last three La Liga games. Most recently losing at home to Las Palmas.
While the German coach made sure to credit the Polish goalkeeper for his consistency and quality in the training sessions, it seems clear enough that Hansi Flick already has his mind made up.
For most of the games, Peña’s displays have not exactly given Flick a reason to replace him. But the €8m-rated goalkeeper’s last outing against Las Palmas definitely left more to be desired.
