Real Madrid reveal why Luka Modric was absent from Super Cup match against Mallorca as the player was suffering from a virus.

However, Modric was not name in the squad for the match against Mallorca, with the club saying: “Our player Luka Modric did not play today against Mallorca due to a virus infection. We will have to wait and see what happens.”

It’s unclear if Modric has meant to play in today’s match against Mallorca, and whether head coach Carlo Ancelotti will have to adjust his starting lineup as a result.
